Over the past two weeks all of our classes have been lucky enough to visit Happy Healthy Harold at The Hunter Life Education Centre, Edgeworth. Harold taught all our students many things about the body and healthy living to go with our Term 4 Big Idea 'Healthy Choices.'

Merewther Public School had the Life Education van visit their school where they learnt about healthy food choices, bullying, defining a drug, passive smoking and issues of littering. The children of Merewether Public School could attend this visit thanks to Adopt-a-Class supporters Auto Advantage and Lawler Partners and Life Education NSW.



Newcastle Special School enjoyed their Life Education visit where they learnt, among other things, about the safe use of medicines, the effects of passive smoking and pollution. The children of Newcastle Special School could attend the Life Education session thanks to Adopt-a-Class supporters Job Centre Australia.


The 2010 Hunter Region BEC Golf Day was a great success. Kurri Kurri Golf Club hosted 60 keen and amature golfers - to network and raise two Adopt-a-Class sponsorships for Hunter Life Education.

Tameeka Thornton, our School Based Business Services Trainee has been an invaluable part of the Hunter Life Education team for two years now.
On Wednesday 10th November Tameeka was awarded the winner of the Career Links School Based Traineeship Award in her category - Business Services AND the overall winner of the School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships 2010.
The Hunter Life Education team are all very proud of her. Congratulations Tameeka!
