Thank you to everyone who participated in Dress Down Drug Free 2010. Every donation helps to make a difference to the lives of children in the Hunter Region.

We all had a ball on Friday 24th September. Businesses and Schools in the Hunter chose a theme and donated to Hunter Life Education

Best Theme

We were impressed with the variety of creative dress themes chosen, making it a tough decision to select Best Theme.
The winner of Best Theme 2010 is We Help Ourselves (WHOS) from Cessnock dressed as Super Heroes - The Drug Freedom Fighters. They looked terrific.

WHOS enjoyed their prize of an NXFM brekkie bench on Friday 15th October.

WHOS provides a safe and secure environment where men and women who suffer from drug dependence and its related problems can concentrate on their recovery. Experienced drug and alcohol workers who deal with the special needs of clients provide groupwork, individual counselling, and facilitate aftercare support and accommodation for clients during their transition back into the community.

Business to Raise the Most Funds

Businesses raised funds for Hunter Life Education by hosting BBQs, morning teas, selling merchandise, collecting gold coins from the office or from their whole local business community. It was a close call but the winner of the Business to Raise the Most Funds for Dress Down Drug Free 2010 is Macquarie Generation with a total donation of $500.

Macquarie Generation has won a training session with Total Performance Concepts. Bill Nelson Total Performance Concepts helps individuals, teams and businesses turn potential into new levels of performance.

Macquarie Generation has graciously decided to donate their prize back to Hunter Life Education. Macquarie Generation's core business is the production and wholesale of electricity to the National Electricity Market. It is Australia's largest electricity generator and the largest domestic buyer of Hunter Valley coal, employing just over 600 people, most of who live in the Upper Hunter.

An honourary mention to Ray White Maitland for their fundraising efforts, involving seven other businesses from their local community in Dress Down Drug Free. As recognition of this endeavour, Hunter Life Education awards Ray White Maitland with a double pass to a Sydney Harbour Bridge climb.
