Catchment Connections Carnival
The Hunter Life Education Centre hosted students and teachers from 18 schools on 5th June who were celebrating World Environment Day. 180 students and around 60 teachers, accompaying parents, council staff and community volunteers were treated to a host of workshops and real-life learning experiences at the Hunter Life Education Centre
Each year, Lake Macquarie City Council's Sustainability Project Co-ordinator, Margo Smith, coordinates the Catchment Connections Carnival to celebrate World Environment Day in Lake Macquarie. Due to rain the event was, at the last minute, moved to the Hunter Life Education Centre.
Margo Smith said "Thank you for making the Hunter Life Education Centre available last friday for Council's Catchment Connections Carnival. It was a big ask at such short notice and your staff were friendly, professional and very accommodating to our needs."
